Game Pucking On by Livvy Stone
It’s always been just me and my girl, Stanley Puck.
Now I’m fake engaged to a fierce vet who hates me, to win a team dog contest.
And winning isn’t about the $100,000 prize anymore. It’s about her.
Everyone knows me as the hockey star with the Instagram-famous golden retriever.
They see the matching sunglasses, the cocky smile, the perfect life.
They think they know my story.
They don’t.
When I enter dog show competitions, it’s not for the cameras.
I have my reasons.
What I don’t have is time for distractions—especially not a sexy small-town vet.
Morgan Bailey. With her rescue dog, she’s all heart.
With me? Instant enemies.
Which is fine, really.
Except for the part where I’m falling for her.
So, suddenly, the game’s pucking on for real.
And trying to ignore this heat while we train?
Damn near impossible—like teaching Stanley to parallel park.
The more I see the way she fights for the animals no one else will, the more I want to stay.
I’ve already lost one girl I couldn’t save.
I won’t lose another.

The premise of this book is great. Gotta love dogs! Sadly, the book didn't live up to it. The writing is stiff and flat. There's no personality, chemistry, passion or anything between the human characters and there certainly isn't any romance or humor. What could have been a very entertaining book was just boring. Not the feeling you want to get from reading a book. I give it 2/5 but really only for the dogs.
