I’m ready to roar! I’ve been taking a backseat to my husband our whole married life. We never went anywhere because he didn’t want to. I wanted to travel and see the world! Something different!
Then my now ex-husband decided to fool around and get his barely twenty-something girlfriend knocked up. Now I’m starting over at thirty and the first thing I want to do, is go explore the world! So I book a vacation in a hotel in the wilds of Canada. Lovely hiking trails and stunning scenery all around me soothe my aching, dented heart and give me hope that life goes on. Retreating into the mountains gave me exactly what I needed after a messy end to my marriage. My wife wrecked me. Convinced me to give up my life as a trucker so that I was home every night with her. Then she cheated on me with a co-worker.
Now I’m self-sufficient and happy in the mountains. The hotel nearby and some other small businesses occasionally call me to track down a wandering tourist that’s gotten separated from their group. Which is how I end up finding Lizzie.
Red hair, mouthy and curvy as all get out, she’s a nightmare for me. I don’t want to be attracted to any woman ever again. It doesn’t help that Lizzie is thirteen years younger than me. So she’s too gorgeous and too young for me. She’s also the smartest, sweetest woman I’ve ever met and it’s incredibly hard to walk away from her and go home alone.
We’re different people from completely different places, both of us a little bruised and broken from bad relationships. For some reason, we can’t seem to stay away from each other. How do we make things work when we’re from such different worlds?
