Trask Sothard never thought he’d separate from the Marines. He figured he’d die with his boots on, metaphorically speaking. But that wasn’t going to happen now, because certain…things had driven him out of the service. Currently, he’s fumbling to find his place in civilian life; a reality that is kicking his butt. In the end, he’ll either ace working for Diver Downeast with his brothers, or his well-ordered life will get derailed by the damndest woman he’s ever met. The second alternative, unfortunately, is a more likely scenario, since one Jett Deluca stretches his control thin, making it impossible for him to think straight. Survival is currently at the top of his agenda, but the confounding female might just be the death of him.
Jett DeLuca is a mess. But she’s also…not. A well-oiled machine when she’s running an op, she’s a bit of a loose cannon in every other aspect of her life. Okay. More than a bit. But it’s never bothered her much, until now; until Trask Sothard. Since meeting him, she’s really wishes she could be the kind of woman he admires. While at the same time, she gleefully relishes being the proverbial thorn in the tightly-buttoned-up man’s side. Will he continue to allow either…or both? Only time will tell.
But the clock is ticking.
