Soon-to-be divorced Savannah Dayne needs a job. CEO Taurus Jackson needs an assistant. But here’s the problem: she’s never had a real job and he’s, well, horrible…Mean, arrogant, curses like a sailor, and prone to yelling fits. But in a rare fit of niceness, he gives Savannah a chance.

It doesn’t go well.

But they’re two very sexy people in very close quarters, so…sparks naturally fly. And when business and pleasure collide, and lines get blurred, they’re forced to confront their growing feelings for each other before they fail to close the most important deal of all: love.

Both characters were unconventional. She wanted to be a stay-at-home wife and mother. Black women are held to the standard of "strong". Like it is some kind of badge of honor. We can be strong and stay at home.

“…the dirty little secret is that we’re strong because we’ve always had to be.”

With her, this alpha could admit to wanting to be loved and catered to without it being perceived as "weak".

Black love in all of its wondrous variations.

I found it interesting that it was a black man black woman book since I haven’t found many of those, but I find it odd that a woman was made to feel bad and small because she did not want to be cheated on, is this a representation of a culture I don’t think so, also I think the story needed to show more growth of the couple as far as I know people don’t fuck and then just decide this is it.. Also just my personal opinion and preference but a mommy’s boy is not attractive and not an alpha!
