I would do anything for my best friend.

Well. Almost anything.
When she begs me to come on a weekend getaway so I can bond with her new boyfriend, I can’t say no—no matter how badly I want to. After all, who will keep an eye on the guy; he’s your stereotypical, professional football player (emphasis on PLAYER) and I don’t trust him with my friends heart.

Worse? He has the nerve to bring his single best friend Davis on the trip, too. Davis is too handsome, so funny and smart he can’t possibly be human. Grandma’s, babies and kittens fall for his smile. In fact, everyone adores but me **narrows eyes** What’s he hiding? I refuse to fall for his act; at some point he’ll will drop the Good Guy act and show his true colors: he’s a player, too. He must be. You know the saying: if he seems too good to be true, he probably is.

I am just a few chapters in and Halbrook calls Juliet "uptight" because she was not willing to share a cabin+bed with him especially when she was not informed about this arrangement before the trip and hence didnt agree to it. He then calls her prissy because HE knew they were going to share and "had no problem with it because its not like anything romantic would happen between them" and she should not expect someone else to spend thousands of dollars on her. He then proceeds to call her immature because they are not in high school anymore so sharing a room with a guy is not a "big deal". And then he amazingly asks her whether she giggles when a guy flirts with her because she is so immature. What a charmer... not. Well dickhead your friends shouldn't call people on an "all expense paid" trip then. He was trying to guilt her into the arrangement because " her best friend has met him and trusts him so she should not behave like a brat by complaining so much. I would not be comfortable sharing a room, specifically a bed with someone (especially a young man who is larger than me in size) whom I've never met before and don't know very well. It doesnt matter if my so called best friend thinks that person is a saint. What a shit show.
