Being forced to marry into a sicko cult wasn’t even the weirdest part of my day…
I thought my fiancé was a good guy. Not the greatest in the sack, but decent marriage material.
Too bad it took finding him in a compromising position—with his mother—to figure out how wrong I’d been.
When they told me they’d kill me if I ran away, I believed them. I didn’t, however, believe them when they said the magical Ash tree in the woods would eat me alive.
Wrong again.
Lucky for me, Ash didn’t kill me. Turns out he likes my stories. And my, um, sap. So, I’m sure I can convince him to let me go once he’s been properly…satiated.
I never thought the killer tree holding me captive would turn out to be a better man (and lover) than the idiot I married.
But he is.
Now I’m starting to wonder if a girl with roots in the city and a tree with roots in the woods (literally) can find their happily ever after together…

This was definitely new to me, some it reminded me of god of war ragnarok. It’s hot and slightly twisted but it’s cute, especially the end.

For those who have read A Thousand and One Nights will know that this was inspired by it. While not original, this plot is still creative. I don’t regret reading it!

I’ve read A a thousand and One Nights in Arabic, French and English, and it’s a great read in any language (although the original Arabic can’t be beat). You should definitely read it, Dawn. So it’s made up of several stories, and the main one is about a king who, bitter by his wife’s infidelity, takes a virgin sacrifice each night. He basically has sex with one, then has her killed by morning. Scheherazade is a virgin girl who decides to save the girls in her village, including her sister, so she volunteers and when with the king, she convinces his to listen to a story she wants to tell. And she starts the story that ultimately never ends, since she always stops on a cliffhanger and the king keeps her alive to hear the continuation. Ultimately he falls in love with her and she gives him children and becomes his queen. So you can see why I said this story is inspired by it, and why I said that it wasn’t original, but still creative (Siggy Shade’s Morning Wood, obviously lol)

How can you not know the Arabian fairy-tale book 1001 nights? Its a classic! Its like not knowing Iliad or Odysseia, the root texts of the western civilization. You need to do some serious reading!

Who wrote A Thousand and One Nights? As you mentioned it in your comment and now I would love to read it.

She writes rather original stuff, this one is mellower sort.
