I shouldn’t have taken Jasmine to my bed. But I did, for the obvious reason. In my head, she became mine, but someone else had a prior right to me, so I couldn’t claim her.

I hurt her, though I never intended to. It’s just that my life is, complicated.

Thinking my love for her was one-sided, I let things go on.

When my brothers forced me to read the damn book she wrote, I knew her feelings for me echoed mine. And that I had to shut them down.

The trouble was, I stopped reading half-way through. When I realised it was too late, she was gone. If I’d known earlier, I might have been able to save her.

I fell for Strider. At first, I went to his bed just to gain the protection of his club. But when he refused to let any others touch me, then I started to hope he was mine. He was everything I’d ever hoped I’d find in a man.

I ignored the fact I wasn’t free, that someone else had a claim on me. Surely, an outlaw biker wouldn’t care?

But when Strider showed me how he could never be mine, I ran.

I was naïve. I thought I was safe. But my past caught up with me.

Strider would have protected me, but he has no idea where I am.
