I never thought I could be a stranger to him.
And I never thought we’d wind up in this position…

Serena:
Mark McKinney made my life a living nightmare back in high school.
He pulled my hair, he called me names.
Like Pathetic Paulson.
He’d do anything to make me miserable, anything to make me feel alone.
But now that we’ve graduated, now that we’re adults, he doesn’t seem to remember me one bit when I return back home from college.
And I’ve forgotten how attractive he is, but that’s besides the point.
I’d rather be left alone anyways.
But now I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Mark’s parents need help this summer, they need someone to take care of their mansion while they’re away on vacation.
And I need this job. For real.
I just hope Mark won’t be there. No matter how much it looks like he’s changed, no matter how nice he is to me in passing, I know the truth.
I know Mark’s nothing but bad news.

Mark:
I never thought I’d see her again.
Serena Paulson, the girl I used to torment back in high school.
Pathetic Paulson herself.
And now the stuck-up prima donna is back in our little town, back from her first year of college. Pretending like she doesn’t even remember me.
Fine. Two can play at that game.
My parents need a groundskeeper for the summer anyways, someone to clean up our mansion while the rest of the family leaves me to go to Mexico.
Leaving me alone. Here by myself.
And you’ll never guess who they hired.
Pathetic Paulson.
A whole summer together, just the two of us. Alone in my parent’s enormous mansion.
Yeah.
This is gonna be good.

The 2 leads were so childish. I know they were young but it was a bit much. Annoyed me. I pushed through to the end, almost didn't.
