MEL
Five more months and then I graduate and am getting the hell out of Seattle. I was looking forward to a future here… but everything changed when my bestie, Bee, got a brain transplant along with her engagement ring. At least my remaining time is looking more interesting. A yummy distraction in the form of Pete Rampwood is just what the doctor ordered. I’m going to have my fun, graduate, and put this place in my rearview mirror.

PETE
I never expected a chance encounter at an alumni event to do anything other than provide a distraction. Spontaneous and bubbly have never interested me much, so I have no idea why I can’t stop thinking about them now. Mel Larch is a diversion, nothing more. She can never be anything more. So why the hell does it feel so wrong to think about walking away?
Everyone has a type, but when someone comes along and blows all of your expectations out of the water, the only option is to open your heart and take a leap of faith. You might even find the love of your life. Just like that.
