What do a groundhog and a hot firefighter have in common?
They’re both front row to my utter downfall.

When I’m tasked with the most impossible event of the year it goes exactly how you would think.
Dishes fly through the air, guests slip in animal poop and my new boss is red-faced mad at me. It’s the social event everyone will talk about all right, for all the wrong reasons. Epic fail doesn’t touch the damage I’ve done to my career with one large swoop.
When a fire starts, my holidate finally shows up, but it’s not for me. No, it’s to save the day and add to my absolute humiliation.
He plays dumb like he doesn’t know about the holidates app or that he agreed to be my plus one to this disaster.
I should have known he was playing a mean trick on me. I’ve never gotten along with my devilishly handsome neighbor so why did I trust him?
That was my mistake, but I won’t be sorry. That honor will be his. I’ll make him beg for my forgiveness.
