His Human to Adore by Morgan Robinson
A12-04
Two weeks ago, my opinions on leaving Earth changed drastically. I went from being terrified and worried to almost excited about finding a new home on a planet that only three other humans have traveled to. Love, happiness, and a family are all possibilities in this new place, and the closer I get to leaving Earth, the more anticipation I have. Three others have gone, and they’re all happy. Why shouldn’t I be eager to find that same happiness?
From the moment I step through the portal into the new world, I can feel the other half of my soul, the person— the alien — who completes me. Now I just need to figure out why he’s rejecting just how perfect we are for one another.

Yes, I want a human female to call my own. A small, soft human that looks to me for protection, care, and companionship. Of course, I want these things just as many of my brothers do. My brothers do not have the wishes of their long passed mothers directing them to mate one of our kind, though.
When I try to explain to my mother that I wish to find a human female to be my mate, she brings the storms of lightning and thunder many days before they are meant to torment our lands. Now I am trapped inside with a human who calls to my soul, and I know I must reject her no matter how badly I wish not to. The goddess has abandoned me, my mother is angry with me, and the little human is tempting me.
As though that’s not enough, my body is changing. My mind changing even more. The sweet, patient male I have always been is changing. He’s disappearing into a beast filled with anger and rage that seems to be soothed only when I think of the human I am trying so desperately to push away.

Regarding this series: These stories feel like a mess to the reader because the author is having the Male Leads take joy in embarrassing, ordering around, talking down to the Female Lead, and being generally disrespectful. But, then, literally, in the next breath or action the MLs are talking about how devoted they are to the FL, how they will act/say/do anything for them, how much they love them, etc. That doesn't exist in the same person. In Yril's story, he acts amused that his mate is so nervous being with him when they first are alone and about to be intimate. Regardless of what he thinks in his POV, that is not at all how you would behave towards a soulmate you care about. Nor would any woman react positively to that. Their discomfort, fear, embarrassment wouldn't please you. It's in many novels. This author is just more blatant and obvious that she is trying to get the reader to accept his unhealthy behavior that proves he doesn't genuinely care for his soulmate. As long as the FL is happy about whatever he does and he acts the opposite, saying he loves her, etc, enough ... then readers accept what the author wants them to. These stories have guys that are volatile and have major anger issues.👹🤬 Yeah, we all know not to be with a guy like that. But, these females just love it.😍 This chick was actually worried he might turn back into his normally kind self.🥲 Plus, this guy has some more, rather dumb, mental issues that are the author's excuse to drag out them fully getting tog. And these guys are severely possessive fated mate MLs. Yet, Kendra's fated mates enjoy her being naked in front of other guys and having sex with other guys ... lovely.😔 Pretty much would ruin the whole soulmate thing. Not bad, just doesn't belong in a serious fated mates story. Shame. Their are many pieces of this series that could've been a good solid, enjoyable series. Author ruined it. Badly. She has some issues. As usual, this is my own opinion. I'd suggest moving on, too.
Felt like a mess. Not worth your time.
