It’s the first rule of friendship among gentlemen: Don’t even think about touching your best friend’s sister.

Sebastian, Lord Byrne, has never been one for rules. He’s thought about touching Mary Clayton—a lot—and struggled to resist temptation. But when Mary’s bridegroom leaves her waiting the altar, only Sebastian can save her from ruin. By marrying her himself.

In eleven years, he’s never laid a finger on his best friend’s sister. Now he’s going to take her with both hands. To have, to hold…and to love.

This was a fun, mildly spicy short story about a woman and her younger, late brother's best friend. Nearly 3 years older than Sebastian, Mary had been engaged to another man for quite some time. However, for one reason or another, the wedding kept getting put off. One of those reasons was that she had been in mourning for her younger brother, Henry, who had died in battle. His best friend, Sebastian, had returned wounded, but with a heavy heart When it appeared that Mary was being jilted at the altar by her fiance, Sebastian stepped up and married her in the man's place, then took her to his seaside cottage for a short honeymoon. But all was not as he supposed...and the cottage was in a state of disrepair, but they made it work. When the secrets were finally revealed by all involved, it took a while to sort through the issues before the HEA was achieved. But it all finally worked out in the end. The story was quite enjoyable, if a little too short. It needed a little more content to round things out and to provide the reader with a bit more background information. However, it was cute, funny, and heartwarming. Therefore, it earned a five-star rating and a place in the Keeper for the Shelves collection.
