After my cheating fiance set my old life ablaze, I returned to Rosewood, the small town I grew up in. Everything in Rosewood may have looked the same, but it sure felt different ten years later. When I moved into my late grandmother’s cafe, I had no plans of staying long.
Those plans of isolating myself in her shop quickly died. Nicholas Reid, my old rival from our high school volleyball team, found me minutes after entering town and seemed quite surprised to find me sneaking in during the middle of the night.
Since I decided to take over my grandmother’s shop and run it on my own terms, Reid started showing up nearly every day. His helpful act was most likely a charade, just like every other man who had made their way into my life. But as we became friends, I found myself wishing for more.
Learning to run my own business would be a challenging adventure, and with Reid living right next door I was bound to run into trouble. If luck was any factor, I was destined for ruin.
