Enraptured by the Marquess by Daphne Quinn
Ravaged by war and wounded by love, the Marquess of Yeovil is a sworn bachelor. But when one shy wallflower, Lady Eliza Lennox, blooms for his eyes alone during a house party, he momentarily forgets the many oaths he’s promised to himself. Kissing the lady’s troubles away seemed the right thing to do in the moment until he’s forced to marry the chit.
Bringing home a bride he knows not at all, he has no choice but to remake each of his promises. Yes, he’s been thrust into matrimony but that doesn’t mean he has to fall victim to feeling.
But fate, and a wallflower turned tenacious, have other plans. His new bride slowly pokes and prods at every one of the carefully erected walls that surround his heart. Eliza is worse than the French at infiltrating his defences. He’s going to need a carefully crafted battle plan to fend her off.
And all is fair in love and war…

Hero was a bit of a loser, who was confused and his decisions kept fluctuating. I have not idea why he felt obligated to clear his ex-fiancee's dead husband's debts that too while leaving the pregnant heroine hanging and wondering if he's gone back to the other woman. Heroine was the only saving grace of this novel but really felt that life could have given her a better choice of husband.
