Nash:
I’m a defensive end for a reason. I know how to guard what’s mine, especially when it comes to my daughter. No one gets close. I don’t need the drama, and I sure as hell don’t need distractions. So when my little girl’s kindergarten teacher steps in to help out, I’m already on edge. She’s got this sunny smile, a wild social life, and zero respect for my no-nonsense rules. I don’t have time for her party-loving ways—and I definitely don’t have time to deal with the way my pulse kicks up every time she’s near. I need her gone. I’m done trusting men. I’ve been burned before, and I’m not about to let some grumpy football player shatter what’s left of my heart. Sure, Nash Humphries is gorgeous—and intimidating—but I’m not fooled by the tough guy exterior. He’s just another man who thinks he can tell me what to do. I’m not here for his cold stares or his judgmental attitude, especially when he keeps acting like I’m some kind of cheap bimbo. But I can’t deny the sparks between us. Every argument only draws me closer. And as much as I fight it, I know one thing for sure: he’s not the only one with walls to break down.
