It was only supposed to last one night…

Roxanne Stokes doesn’t believe in love. She does, however, believe in the sexy-as-sin stranger who literally knocks her off her feet in front of a nightclub. The chemistry sparking between them takes her breath away, and she’ll do anything to ease the pain in his eyes…until she realizes the handsome stranger is her best friend’s older brother who’s just come home from war. Ian Walser had no idea the gorgeous woman he slept with the night of his homecoming party was his little sister’s best friend—or that she’d be gone before morning. Roxanne’s touch soothes him in a way nothing else can, and he’s not ready to walk away from that yet. Not when spending time with her gave Ian a glimpse of everything he’s ever wanted.

When his sister unwittingly pushes them together, he sees his chance. But convincing a woman who doesn’t believe in love that she’s his Mrs. Right might be harder than any mission Ian’s undertaken. Good thing this soldier likes a challenge…

Chasing Mrs. Right, Book 2 of the Come Undone series, was about Roxanne Stokes, owner of a party planning business and BFF to the heroine of Book 1, and 28-year-old Ian Walser, former military, and the older brother of Elle from Book 1. Ian returned home from having served in the Army for 10 years. While attending his welcome home party, he started having a panic attack and rushed out before anyone realized what was happening, only to knock a woman over. The two of them ended up spending the night together, although he didn't realize who she was until he saw her two days later with his sister. It hit him suddenly that the woman he'd spent the night with was Roxanne, his sister's BFF. Roxanne had been late to welcome home party for her BFF's brother, only to be knocked down by a gorgeous stranger. It was after they had checked into a motel and he told her his name that she made the connection of who he was, and she slipped away the following morning, only to meet up with him again two days later. Both of these characters had some pretty bad issues they were dealing with. Ian was suffering from panic attacks and borderline PTSD, while Roxanne had issues regarding falling in love. She didn't believe in it, and her relationships always ended with the men walking away. There was a lot of push/pull between the two main characters, mostly because the FMC struggled with the concept of love. She'd been hurt too many times in the past, and she let her mother's voice echo in her head all too often telling her to walk away and love wasn't real. The MMC's parents weren't any better in this book than they were in the first, especially the mother. What a b*tch. It would be my guess that should the author decide to do a book on the parents, they would go their separate ways, and the dad would be all the better for it. This story was a little bit more emotional than the first one because of the PTSD and panic attacks that the MMC suffered from. I don't know if these two were a good fit because, with their separate issues, they were both emotional basket cases that played off each other. However, the author made it work...somehow. I couldn't give it more than a three-star rating.
