When I moved to Baltimore, I left behind a betrayal that shattered my life and career. I traded it for barista apron, a cheap apartment, and a chance to heal.

Not to fall into the arms of a tattooed, emotionally unavailable man who barely speaks, and glares like it’s a second language. He pushes all my buttons… and touches me like I’m the only thing that’s ever mattered. Behind that wall of silence, there is something broken in him that is all too familiar.

Then letters from home show up, reminders of the life I ran from. If I open them, everything might change. If I don’t… I may never truly heal.

She is a fire I never saw coming…

I don’t do messy or vulnerable. I sure as hell don’t do relationships. Then she appears. Beautiful and stubborn, with curves that make it hard to breathe. But she is hiding something behind those haunted eyes.

I should walk the other way. Instead, I watch her. Get too close. And somewhere between those guarded glances and unexpected encounters, she got under my skin.

But our ghosts threaten to destroy what we’ve barely begun. The truth is more dangerous than either of us expected. When it all comes crashing down, I have to make a choice. Protect her from the fallout… or finally let her in.

Maybe we’re broken. But together, we’re not beyond repair.
