Waking a monster from its sleep is never a good idea.

Skye Carter is as normal as normal can be. But when she chances upon a man in the basement of an abandoned Hollywood Hills house, she’s suddenly playing tour guide, and introducing a fifteen-hundred-year-old vampire to this century. And who even knows what’s going on with her teeth.
The truth is, immortality can get old—which is why Lucas Thorne went to sleep for seventy years. But he’s back and ready to take on undead enemies and friends alike. In a world where threatening creatures roam the night streets, he’s the most dangerous of them all.

This was an interesting read, but it could've used more chapters. The story could have been more in-depth. I liked the characters and there were plenty of interactions that made me chuckle. If the author plans to create a series, I'd read the future books.

Outside of the awful transitions between scenes (there are no transitions, they're just boom in a different scene) I'll give them the benefit in saying it's a formatting error and the fact the author really could of expanded this into a full series but it's only 15 chapters, it's written very well. I'd read more of this world and of this author.
