He claimed me. He threw me over his shoulder and marked me as his own.

A freak accident sends me into the midst of a military camp in an alien world. Immediately, a group of aliens surrounds me and they’re literally lining up to ravage me. But before they can touch me, Eldas the Scovein steps in. Gigantic, blue, and unreasonably attractive. I thought he was my savior. But in reality, he’s my captor.
Eldas is possessive. Terrifying. Why do I feel the urge to be closer to him… closer than any man before?
He’s sworn to protect me and keep me safe. At first, I couldn’t believe that, but the connection I feel cannot be denied.
Maybe he really is my savior.

Hmmm has some good parts and bad parts. I'll name two of each as examples: Good:

  1. Funny. Found myself chuckling on several occasions, especially during the first half of the book.
  2. The attraction and chemistry between the two main characters radiates off the pages, which is normally difficult to accomplish in such book genres.

Bad:

  1. The female can be such a turn off at times. I mean who calls their lover "you fuck"? She's not even angry when she says such things to him. Is the author trying to insinuate that she's not a very feminine character? Because she could have done so in other less-awkward ways. The character is clearly educated, as well, so it can't be that she's trying to frame her as poor or ill-mannered. It just makes no sense.
  2. She almost gets raped. A horrid alien beats her up (actually smashes her head against a brick 4 times) and takes out his dick to rape her before he's killed at the very last second. Instead of using this opportunity to emphasize her humanity (literally, as the only human on that planet and a female at that), the female starts flirting with her lover almost immediately after he rescues her and they fuck after she takes a nap. What? I'm not saying fall apart on him, but having such an unrelatable robotic reaction to rape does not make this character endearing, strong or relatable.
