A Sister to Beguile by Wendy May Andrews
Two nobles convinced love has no place in their future—until their hearts get involved.
Lady Graciela Sherton, the Earl of Sherton’s youngest daughter, shares none of her sisters’ ambitions for love or marriage—much to her mother’s chagrin. She is happy to spend the rest of her days at her family’s estate, steadfast in her conviction that boring is better. That is, until a threat to her family forces her from her complacent comfort zone.
Lord Alexander Sterling has no intention of marrying. Society might claim he needs an heir, but he’d rather die alone than subject another generation to a childhood like his own. Lady Grace is merely the inconvenient sister-in-law of the duke he is determined to do business with, until her calm nature and generous spirit have him realizing there may be more behind her pretty face.
When Grace and Alex team up to uncover a saboteur threatening the duke’s business, their own preconceived plans for the future are challenged by the conflicted feelings between them. They are both determined to keep their distance, but it’s getting harder to remember why.

A Sister to Beguile, Book 5 (and thankfully, the final book) of the Sherton Sisters series, was about Lady Graciela Cecilia Serenity Sherton, the 5th daughter of the Earl of Sherton, and Lord Alexander Sterling, the Earl of Lakewood (Which was he, a Viscount or an Earl? The previous book ended with Felicity writing to Grace and calling him a Viscount. This book started with him being called an Earl.). Lord Alexander was an extremely arrogant, puffed-up, and vain fellow who had a very low opinion of women. Not the very best choice for the Hero of a romance story. Side note: Just like the previous book, the author had the main female character do the oddest thing: Instead of writing letters in her head as Felicity did, Grace wrote copious lists in hers. This was so annoying. From start to end, this book made very little sense. Neither of the main characters ever wanted to marry. Grace didn't because she "felt insignificant" and didn't think she'd ever matter to anyone. Alex didn't because of his "bad childhood" and he didn't want to continue his line...although his "bad childhood" never got explained past the fact he loved his father but didn't like him, and his mother was a witch who gave him a bad outlook towards all women. The storyline and plot made less sense than the two not wanting to marry. WHY would a sister-in-law and lord who had no connection to the family except wanting to do business with the duke be left in charge of finding out who was plotting against the family? And why did the rest of the family give these two a cold shoulder when they reached out for help? With all that said, there was no chemistry between the two main characters...AT.ALL. Almost to the very end, Alex expected Grace to be trying to trap him in a compromising situation in order to force him into marriage...then suddenly, WHAM, he's in love and WANTS to marry her?! While Grace, always feeling responsible and needing to take the blame for everyone else's actions, stood up for Alex time after time, and still didn't want to marry him...until the end. The drama and angst were both out of proportion and misplaced, there was no humor, and the story just...droned on and on. While there was a HEA, it was bland and weak at best. The entire story was just enough off-kilter to make the reader feel lost for the entire book.
