Ashley is stuck. In order to save her family’s farm, she married Waylon two weeks ago, a terrible man she doesn’t love and won’t allow to touch her.
Enter Caleb. On the surface, he’s a strict and stoic marriage counselor, but his methods are somewhat…unconventional. In order to save her marriage to Waylon, Caleb proposes that Ashley spend three days—and nights—with him, so the therapist can study what makes her happy. Emotionally. Physically. At the end of their time together, Caleb will pass on his findings to Waylon, so he can be a better husband. Simple, right?
Wrong.
Caleb has absolutely no intention of returning Ashley to her husband—and he has three days to figure out how to save her family’s farm from ruin and keep the woman he loves forever. But is there a method to his madness or is he just…mad?

A Method to His Madness was a short story about 33-year-old Caleb Draper, a licensed therapist, and 20-year-old Ashley Collins, a young girl who dreamed of becoming a writer someday.

The story began when Caleb first saw Ashley in the grocery store and decided he wanted her on the spot. Unfortunately, he quickly learned she was in a marriage with an abusive man. Ashley, who had only been married for two weeks to her husband, 31-year-old Waylon Collins, had entered into the arrangement to save her family's farm. Two years earlier, his father had purchased the land on which their farm was, and put it in his son's name. Waylon, in turn, decided that he would forgive all the family debt in exchange for...her.

There wasn't much to this short story, other than the MMC determining that the FMC would be his. He secretly gave her his business card, hoping she'd follow through and he'd make it seem like he was giving the couple marriage counseling. However, he planned to woo her away from her husband while the other man was on a fishing trip.

The angst was minimal, as was the drama, controversy, and spiciness. The book had no real storyline or plot, other than the MMC taking the FMC to bed and showing her how she could be in control and free of fear.

The book was so short that it was over almost before it began, so it didn't give the characters any time for maturing or growth. It all took place in the span of a weekend, and only two characters filled the majority of the time. The soon-to-be ex-husband didn't really count as he didn't have much page time allotted to him. Since it was short and sweet, I only gave this a two-star rating.
