Your Daddy Does It Better, part of the Park Avenue Elites series, was about Bryce and Isla. Isla was the girlfriend of Bryce's son. Let me rephrase that. She was the girlfriend of his extremely ABUSIVE son, Paul. He had been knocking her around for over a year, and she felt too weak and "pathetic" her word) to walk away. After a particularly vicious beating, Paul informed her they were having dinner with his father. Upon arrival, Bryce noticed Isla couldn't (or wouldn't) lift her eyes from the floor. But he also noticed how his son seemed to be controlling her. When she inadvertently interrupted the two men, Paul backhanded her and knocked her to the floor, leading to Bryce beating the crap out of his son and tossing him out on his ass. Now Bryce wasn't any better than his son, except that he didn't abuse women, having come from a home where his own father had abused his mother. He also was a man who had been taken advantage of by an older woman when he was 16 (she had been 33), and his son was the product of that union. That woman had been heavily into CSA, and Bryce hadn't been her only victim. Anyway, Bryce took control of Isla and made her his. As I said, this man wasn't much better than his son. There was so much violence and abuse in this book it was hard to enjoy. Some readers will look at it and say it wasn't abuse, but that it was BDSM instead. Sorry, but that's not how I read it. This girl was a product of an abusive father too, and she just went from one bad situation to another. Okay, so of all the men in her life, Bryce was the best, but that didn't make him a good guy. I struggled with this story. It was pretty brutal. Yes, I liked Bryce, believe it or not. And I liked Isla. I just didn't enjoy the book in its entirety. The author tried to pass abuse off as BDSM, but let's call it what it really was. Abuse. The emotions of this story were very dark. They were rough and dramatic and full of angst. High angst and high drama. There was nothing cute or fluffy about it. There was nothing humorous about it. Be prepared to meet the dark side of a dark theme. There were quite a few issues that didn't get resolved...or if they did I missed it. It left a lot of unanswered questions for me and I just don't enjoy that in a book of any genre...unless it's a cliffhanger and will be resolved in a sequel. (Although I don't like cliffs! LOL) I could only give this a one-star rating. I didn't want to give it even that high of a rating though. It really hurt to read what this girl went through. It didn't have anything to do with the dark theme or the kinks either. It just didn't sit well with me.

Beware triggers. Abuse and then right into femdom. Not at all what I was expecting. Messed up for someone that was abused to change in one second like that.
