Leaving behind a life of luxury in order to break free from my father was a decision I had no hesitation in making. The downside? I hadn’t realized what leaving behind my trust fund would actually mean for me.
The term struggling college student was an understatement when I looked at how my life was currently playing out, which was me standing in the middle of the library, unable to pay for an overdue library book.

Then he stepped forward, paid the balance, and fled. When I caught up to him, he barely gave me the time of day, walking away from me while I stood frozen in place, calling out my name so he’d know it.
Every day I went back to the library in hopes he’d show up, and as the days passed I began losing hope in the possibility of seeing him again. So, imagine my surprise when he showed up and inserted himself into my day as though he was always meant to be there.
The attraction between us was undeniable, but as I gave into the temptation and let my guard down, he kept his firmly in place.
