She’d waited so long for this moment…

Amy Van Winkle stood on her toes as Luke Sutter exited the airport terminal. Being apart for six years while he served his country had taken extreme determination and 24-hour patience. But here he was safely back in their hometown of Pensacola Florida, and Amy could hardly contain her excitement. Her face lit up, and she was seconds from taking off into a sprint until another woman saunters his way. Their embrace sucks the wind out of Amy, and she can’t help but feel as if everything they’d shared was a figment of her imagination.

Luke Scutter has been waiting to reunite with Amy Van Winkle since the day he left for basic training. So when his tour in Iraq is complete, he wants to surprise her, but that comes to a halt when his pen pal shows up at the airport with a surprise of her own. Not only is it a startling ambush, but Amy is there, and the glow she once held is doused. Now Luke must make amends and do everything in his power not to lose Amy. But will it be enough to coat the sting of betrayal or will their relationship end before it can begin?

Completely agree!!! why are the authors gaslighting these things as manly things to do!!! and people in her life telling her how to choose him and how he is the victim!!!!!!
