Terrible read. Do not recommend. Absolutely horrible. The start had potential but from her on out, because of course there’s more books, it’s intolerably bad. I could have written this better when I was in high school. Also, the author seriously has a narcissistic streak because the most followed and desirable character is named after her. It just makes the rest of the story feel really ick 😷

Honestly so glad I wasn't the only person disappointed in this. The MC is a girl thats suffered from forced isolation, mental, and severe physical abuse. The author does give her traits of someone with such trauma (insecurities, panic attacks, anxiety, withdrawn) but the problem is that she also makes her internationally naive, which is understandable, but she come across stupid and doenst have the intuition of someone who has had to walk on eggshells just to stay alive. The male MC pissed me the hell off. He wants to be with someone thats a bit broken but never has any consideration for her feelings or mental state. Every single character in this book blames her and invalidates her feelings based on the fact that she is clueless, as they refuse to tell her anything. She's constantly swimming in a lake of emotions she doesnt understand with only partial information about what's going on, completely confused and wrecked and all of them make it her fault. The character Ryder blatantly victim blames her and plays a crucial roll in her having a huge mental breakdown and suffers no repercussions for it. This is a character that's supposed to have a girlfriend that suffered, almost died from, and still struggled with the same truma induced mental illnesses. This entire book is basically everyone expecting the MC to be totally fixed within a day after 4 years of being beaten with a bat, belt, fists then victim blames when she isn't. Not a single character in this book is likeable or relatable. Honestly this book was offensive and childish.

Awful. Characters are only 2 dimensional, and none of them are like able. The premise is interesting, but the writing was terrible.
