10 stars !!!!! Yum... I loved this story. First I want to say that this book is indeed a very dark romance. There is physical and emotional abuse, brutal non-consensual sex, and aggravated brutality. So.....if any of this makes you uncomfortable, please don't read the book and then leave a negative review. That's just uncalled for.
This story is about Rome and Avery. A modern-day take on Romero and Juliet but with so much more to whet your appetite for crazy hot dark romance.
Avery. Kidnapped and drugged. Gagged and tied to a chair. Legs spread as her masked captor begins his brutal assault. A knife slicing into her thigh. Blood dripping on the floor. All while her tormentor is exploring her nether regions. Pressing into her sliced skin, he plays with her blood then uses it to create easy entry into.....her va jay jay. Before leaving, he smears her blood on her chest, leaving his famous mark. XO. The notorious serial killer who never leaves his victims alive.
HOLY CRAP...oh, I didn't mention the frozen embryos. What a great ride. I'm now onto book 2, Vengeful Queen. The 3rd and last book in the series is due this year, TBA.
Get yourself a glass of wine or maybe something with more kick because you are going to get crazy with this book.
