The Wild Wolf’s Rejected Mate by Cate C. Wells
My mate called me weak and walked away.
Annie
I try not to think about mating the wild wolf from the Last Pack. It happened. He left. The witch sorted me out and life kept going.
I’m anxious all the time—every moment of every day—but I’m not worried about him. He hates me, and he’s not coming back. He made that perfectly clear.
I should have worried.
After all, everyone like me knows the first rule of anxiety—if you don’t worry about something, it will happen.
And the mate who left me is now trespassing on my pack’s territory, and this time, when I run, he chases.
Justus
My mate is damaged.
She’s beautiful, but she smells wrong, and she’s messed up like all the other wolves who pretend to be human.
Our mating was a disaster. I left her, but I couldn’t keep away.
And now—things have changed. I can’t keep my distance anymore, but she’s still as skittish as a rabbit.
She thinks I’m a monster, and catching her isn’t enough—
I have to figure out how to make her stay.
The Wild Wolf’s Rejected Mate is a shifter romance about fated mates finding their way back to each other. No cheating. HEA guaranteed. Intended for adult readers only.

I enjoyed getting back into Cate C. Wells’ world, but one thing felt off in The Wild Wolf’s Rejected Mate. Justus being portrayed as just as strong as Killian didn’t sit right. If you’ve read The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate, you know Killian was a force—powerful enough to beat the shit out of his own packmates who betrayed him and even take down Justus’s packmates who came to steal. He didn’t just dominate; he owned every scene he was in. So trying to put Justus on that same level didn’t feel believable.
It felt off because of that. The power dynamics that were so clearly established in Killian’s book got muddied here.
That said, the book was okay. I still enjoyed the read, but honestly, I liked Killian’s story more.
I loved it, it's so different from the other stories... simply beautiful. I fell completely in love with how things work in the last pack. I hope that from now on they can give a little of their magic to the rest of the packs that definitely need it. Until now, Killian remained my number 1, but Justus... god, he's so perfect, so now they share place LOL

This wasn't my favorite story in the series, Abertha was barely in it, the main characters reconciliation wasn't very interesting, I guess this was way to give readers the Last Pack lore. Not a bad book, just not compelling like some of the others.
“What the hell were you thinking?”... Giving this book a low rating, I loved this book.
