The Other Woman by Jordan Silver
When Wendy went after a married man and got him, she thought her life would change for the better. She had no idea that the jilted woman’s moving on would set off a string of events that would show her and the man she stole why the grass is never greener on the other side.
When Rachel lost her no-good husband to another woman, she endured the pain of betrayal like anyone else would, but it didn’t take her long to look at the bright side. What had she lost after all? A husband and father who barely spared a moment for his wife and kids? Good riddance.
She was all set to do it alone, no matter how hard it proved to be, but that was before her husband’s best friend stepped in to help her carry the load.
When Doug left his wife for his new hot girlfriend he expected her to put up a fight. He was pleasantly surprised and relieved when she let him go without too much fuss. But little did he know that things would take a drastic turn when his best friend decided to pick up his slack.
Jacob had always had a thing for Rachel. In fact, the night she met Doug, he had been the one to see her first and point her out to his friend, who made the first move. Now that Doug was out of the picture, the wealthy businessman saw no reason not to make his move.

The Other Woman was about Doug, Wendy, Rachel, and Jacob.
This will not be like my usual reviews, mainly because this book is not like the normal books I am used to reading. I normally will avoid stories that contain cheating in any form or fashion. It's just one trope that I prefer to steer clear of. However, even the usual tropes, bookshelves, and tags don't fit how this book was written. That being said, let the review begin!
The Other Woman wasn't a book about cheating. Honestly, it wasn't even a book about romance. The main focus of the whole story was what could...and sometimes does...happen when one or more partners cheat on the other. In this story, Doug had been cheating on Rachel, his wife of ten years, with a co-worker named Wendy for more than 2 years. However, that took place before the book even began. Also off-page, Doug had told his BFF, Jacob, about his affair in hopes that his friend would take his side. However, Jacob, who had been in love with Rachel for 10 years, told Doug to tell her the truth or he would do it himself. (Doug knew that Jacob had loved Rachel for his entire marriage. In fact, Jacob had noticed Rachel first, but Doug was jealous of his friend and made the first move, winning Rachel's hand before Jacob could even talk to her.) The opening line of Chapter 1 was after the fact, and from the POV of Doug, talking to his mistress. He had just told his wife about the affair and that he was filing for a divorce. He left behind his wife, a three-year-old son, and a six-month-old daughter.
Unlike most other stories on this topic, the author didn't give us just a couple of POVs. We were given the POVs of all of the main characters. Hence, the reader got to see the destruction firsthand of not only a marriage dissolving but the implosion of the affair partners, as well as the beginning of a budding relationship between the ex-wife and the ex-husband's BFF.
It was interesting to get a glimpse from all sides of how their lives shifted, improved, and deteriorated as the story progressed. Maybe some relationships do take this route in real life, but this was definitely OTT in many ways because there are just as many affair partners who go on to live better together than they had with their original partner(s).
There is not a lot I can say about this book that wouldn't be a spoiler, and I don't want to do that (I don't usually have a problem spoiling a story!) because this one was so different. I will just say this...if you choose to read this book, or if you're hesitant in doing so, give it a chance because you won't believe how it ends unless you make it all the way through. Seriously, I gave it a four-star rating...and I just don't do that for cheating tropes!
Oh my god! I'm speechless. This was so vindictive and crazy. I loved it
Yes joy! It just feeds this vengeful and blood thirsty side of u , u didn't know u had🤣😭
Lol riiight? I just love it so much
Really good read,I enjoyed it so much
Loved 😍 it.
This was soooo satisfying!!! Much better than the one where the FC got back wth the cheating husband. I absolutely HATE cheaters and those 2 got exactly what they deserved.
