‘Between life and death there is a library, and within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices… Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?’

A dazzling novel about all the choices that go into a life well lived, from the internationally bestselling author of Reasons to Stay Alive and How To Stop Time.

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?

In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig’s enchanting new novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place.

It was a very enjoyable read, if a bit predictable :) Often have i wondered at how many paths my life could take and how i could have changed things. In the end, it doesn’t matter. We are all exactly where we are meant to be.

i am so glad i read this, mind blown. the ending was a bit predictable but nonetheless perfect. in reference to the comment before me , do not read this if you have triggers. But also do read this if you are in a bad place in life, i wish i read this earlier, but its never too late.

Warning : Spoiler Alert read at your own risk

If only this book came with a warning label that goes something along the lines of " book may not be for the faintest of hearts. " couldn't for the life of me, finish the goddamn book.

Had me in the bathroom crying for about an hour an half

Made me remember the many regrets i've had growing up and will continue to have.

Making me wish i could fix everything in my life up to the point where i am now. But then again, i would never be where EXACTLY i am now. Neither would my dad.

Sarcastically speaking, if you love living in a pool of despair then i'm pretty sure this book is for you

I'm really hoping this isn't too much...

Sorry, i'll think on it... i was very much in a dark spot six months ago... but, Pamela Miller, i will be sure to have another go at it. As i'm in a better spot, seeking help. I will be sure to have better reviews for this. :)

Spoiler Alert: Lacey if you had continued to read you would have found a very joyful and worthwhile ending to this book. This is a wonderful story, which although very distressing at times, you begin to understand how one can see past problems and depression.
