Debut author Sally Thorne bursts on the scene with a hilarious and sexy workplace comedy all about that thin, fine line between hate and love.

Nemesis (n.) 1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person’s undoing
3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual.

Trapped in a shared office together 40 (OK, 50 or 60) hours a week, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship. There’s the Staring Game. The Mirror Game. The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything—especially when a huge new promotion goes up for the taking.

If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong.

Maybe Lucy Hutton doesn’t hate Joshua Templeman. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.

Loved this book and the style of writing it. No millionair drama just the ordinary 2 colleagues. Remibds me of Work for it story. Agree starting and ending wasn't writtwn well but the middle story was worth it! Bit of comedy and loved Josh and Lucy's characters.

i absolutely adored this book however it was kind of slow and the ending when they FINALLY get together is very quick. idk this whole book seemed weird. it was so slow at the begining and when we get the juicy drama bits its over in no time. but overall the book was amazing and i loved it :)

I gave it a solid 4. It was a bit slow at times and a part of the book felt weird, but I enjoyed it overall

I did! It was fine but the magic wasnt there. I guess what peeved me out the most was how they changed the order of scenes in the movie as compared to the book.

Did you watch the movie? I know they worked hard but it just wasn't the same. Book is ❤️.

@Anita Manchanda: True the hero in the trailer looks a little childish to me while I imagined him to be a bit more mature. But hopefully he looks better in the movie as a whole than he did in the trailer. Lucy looks super adorable though.

It better be good but I think the hero in the movie is way too smiley. And Joshua in the book is all stoic.

I Loooooooooooooved this book. I loved The slow burn. Joshua could have handled things better and easier but all in all, it's a wonderful book

I loved how she described Joshua as "the exact opposite of a troll"... she didn't want to admit he's handsome HAHA it's fresh for me, because I get tired reading of stories where the FL "hates" the ML but keeps ogling them and describing them as "hot" 🥴 You're good with the words, Ms. Sally 🥰

Found this book first through an audio book and listening to the first chaps made me come here and give it a read. So worth it!

It was a sweet book, had sweet comedy parts too. But the back and forth in Lucy's pov sometimes confused me. This story reminds me of the Spanish Love Deception and I liked that one better. But it was a cute book and made me smile so I am not complaining. It's being made into a movie so excited to see that.
