The Fire Dragon’s Mate by Delaney Rain

Prince Declan de Lancret of Besia accepted the honorable mission to slay the dragon that has plagued the nine kingdoms for decades. Even though he may not survive—like his brother before him didn’t—Declan is determined to do his utmost to save his people.
Very quickly, Declan learns that his death was already planned by the ship’s captain who brought him to the dragon’s desolate island. Not a single member of Declan’s own guard will defend him or go with him. He is utterly alone. But the machinations don’t stop there.
Declan then discovers that his brother is alive and living very happily with the dragon, a hoard of other princes left here by their people, and the women given as sacrifices to appease the dragon. Now Declan has to confront and overcome a lifetime of being told his passions were forbidden as well as whether his own parents lied about the dragon in order to be rid of him and so many others.
And then sailors arrive on the dragon’s island, threatening Declan’s new life and everything he holds dear. He’ll be forced to fight yet again, this time to save his found family and the dragon he’s come to love.
