Ava Webster hates wedding cakes and her ex … So why is she so tempted by both?

After Leo the Liar crushed her tender heart ten years ago, Ava Webster tied on an apron and went to work in her family’s bakery, lavishing cupcakes and cookies with all the attention and affection Leo the Loser rejected. Her life is good. She has a loving family, great friends, and the comforting knowledge that Leo the Leaver lives in a city far, far away. So when her brother’s financial situation craters like an undercooked cake, the biggest surprise isn’t that he sells off half of their bakery—it’s the man he’s picked as his new partner …
A decade after making the biggest mistake of his life, Leo Stewart finally has an excuse to swoop back into New Bedford and sweep up the woman he loves … again. Too bad she’s not in the mood to be wooed. Except for those rare, delicious moments he manages to melt her candy shell, Ava is determined to treat him like a cockroach in the kitchen. Knowing she hates him is torture. Knowing he deserves her rage is worse. But telling her the truth about why he left could destroy her relationship with someone she loves dearly.
Together, Ava and Leo are a perfect match—chocolate and peanut butter! But their past may prove too bitter to overcome. Is forgiveness on the table? Or will Ava toss their relationship like a week-old whoopie pie?

I hate that so many stories center around a woman's being mistreated or abandoned and then, within a couple chapters, she just bends over and gives in before anything is even resolved between them. This guy ghosted her then came back and interfered in her beloved business--she's hurt, angry, and grieving. so of course she just gives in and let's him finger her while tearing apart her life because she's spineless i guess
