There are two types of people in Solstice: the rich and the not-even-close. The rich become richer, and the not-so-rich become…something else.
Take best friends Paige and Alexis, for example.
Paige just graduated college, is engaged to a doctor, and is well on the way to fulfilling every dream she’s carried since Fate dumped her in that terrible foster home at fourteen. Not that it was all bad, though. That’s where she met her foster-sister Alexis, after all.

And Paige would die for Alexis.
Alexis knows where she stands. Knows she’ll never get the kind of breaks that have been given to Paige, even though they both come from the same rotten foster home. She’s had to do things to survive that no one will ever understand—especially her goody-two-shoes sister from another mister. Alexis may have been born ruined, but it was life that turned her wicked. She’s just playing the hand she was dealt, that’s all.

Alexis sometimes dreams of hurting Paige.
Life threw them together.
Death will tear them apart.
