He dirties her up and she cleanses his soul.

VIKTOR ORLOV
I have no problem taking advantage of the power, prestige, and wealth my last name and family give me. Why shouldn’t I? My brothers have the empire covered and my role in the family has never been clear beyond being the youngest. Why not have fun?
When I’m blindsided by an arranged marriage, one completely out of my control, the only thing I can do is accept it. I enjoy my freedom too much and I won’t make this easy on whoever my wife is. I don’t see why I need to give up the fun I’ve been having; the marriage isn’t real. It might be in the name of some tentative peace between families, but I don’t trust her or her family.
The longer I’m forced to be around Calla, the more I soften toward her. Why do I want to protect her from her brother and my past? It doesn’t make any sense and I don’t deserve to touch her with my soiled hands. When secrets are revealed and my resistance crumbles, I find that I want to make this marriage between us real. Can I earn her trust and prove to my wife that I’m ready for forever while keeping her safe and finding my place in my family’s legacy?

CALLA SOKOLOV
People looking in from the outside would think I have it all, but they have no idea what happens behind closed doors. My life is bleak in ways few would ever understand. My brother, Pavel, has found the power he’s sought for so long with the death of our parents. How is it possible that I’m grieving alone?
For so long, the only thing I’ve had control over is my body. When Pavel comes to me and tells me I’m getting married to strengthen the ties between the Sokolov and Orlov Bratva families, will my body continue to be my own? Marrying Viktor isn’t something I want, but I can’t fight it. Maybe I can use this to gain my freedom.
It’s clear Viktor doesn’t want or trust me, but I feel something for him, even if I shouldn’t. Is this just another trial to endure? Will he betray our marriage to rebel against what has been forced upon us? What happens to the resentment between us when secrets come to light? Can love bloom in our marriage?

Soiled Touch, Book 3 of the Tendered Vows series, was about 21-year-old Viktor Orlov, the youngest brother of the Orlov Bratva family, and 21-year-old Calla Sokolov, the sister to the head of the Sokolov Bratva family.

Ten months after the deaths of her parents, Calla was summoned to her brother's office. That alone usually had ill-boding for her, and there was nothing different this time. She was informed that she would be forced to marry Viktor to strengthen the ties between the two families. She would be meeting him the following day.

Viktor wasn't happy when he was informed by his three older brothers of his impending nuptials. He had too much fun partying, drinking, and whring around. In fact, the very night he was told about the arrangement, he had brought a woman home to bed. After meeting Calla the following day. Once the wedding was scheduled for two weeks after their meeting, her brother demanded visual confirmation of the engagement, so Viktor turned to Calla and handed her an engagement ring. When his brothers and hers left the room, he informed her it would be in-name-only, got up, wrapped his arms around another woman, and walked out on Calla. The woman who had been his fck buddy for some time, let it be known to Viktor that, even though he was now engaged to be married, they could still be together, both during the engagement as well as after he said his vows to another woman. Thankfully, Viktor told her he would not be cheating on Calla. Not during their engagement, nor after the vows were exchanged.

This story had a bit more angst and drama than the first book in the series. Some of the secondary characters created enough conflict to fill a full-length novel, and the emotional rollercoaster had all of the usual twists and turns. The only drawbacks were the grammatical errors and the unresolved issues that left the reader wanting more.

The two main characters were well developed with a lot of room for growth. While the FMC had plenty of maturity, the MMC started out lacking any at all. He had more of a playboy persona and the author played that out as far as she could. Thankfully, he learned a lot and grew up to be the man the FMC needed.

As previously mentioned, there were enough errors to keep the book from receiving a five-star rating. The fact that it felt incomplete took another star away, so the story only earned a three-star rating.
