They tried it but this is nowhere near as good as Shielding Lily. I didn't feel connected to Rosie and Tate as a couple at all. Throughout their relationship we are told that they stay up late talking and texting and getting to know each other and their likes and dislikes. We the readers don't actually get to read them do these things and witness them connect. No we are told. I felt no connection or love for these two and it sucked. And it's like this a lot in Alexa Riley's books now where we are told what the characters are doing rather than experiencing the characters getting to know each other. Also this story was very fast paced which made connecting hard as well. Everything happened so quick between Rosie and Tate and everything in between.

Shielding Lily continues to be their best to me.

Super short novella. It was okay for what it was about. Quick high school football read.

I went into this expecting it to be a re-release of an book of theirs Shielding Lily but enough details and character relationships changed that it's an entirely different book. Lately, they've re-released old books by changing character names and trying to pass it off as a new story so it was nice to see that's not what they did here.
