Lorna: After the awful mess that was my life back on Earth, living in the raskarran village is great. It’s a simple life, but the big green guys provide for us, our huts are cosy and I get to spend my days looking after two adorable children. There’s only one problem – the dreamspace. With new tribes coming to join with ours, there will be a whole bunch of new eligible bachelors hoping to find us in their dreams. But much as I might want to have a family one day, I can’t have anyone inside my head. There are secrets I’m keeping, secrets that could destroy me and any chance of a future I have with the tribe. To stay safe, I have to stay single. That means keeping away from unmated males – especially Shemza, the healer who saved my life and makes my heart race with desire…

Shemza: I have longed for Lorna since the first moment I set eyes on her. Even when she was weak with fever, I knew that my heartspace would never beat for another. We have not joined each other in the dreamspace, and that should mean that she is not my linasha. But the human females have changed all the rules when it comes to mating. Rachel mated to Vantos after many sunsets, which means there is still hope for me. Lorna’s heartspace is closed right now, but if there is a way to get her to open it to me, I will find it. I may be a healer, but Lorna rouses a warrior’s spirit in me, and I will do whatever it takes to claim her as my mate.

This has been a series I really enjoy; very comparable to Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Mates. But, out of all the books in the series so far, I liked this the least. Lorna's secret past takes forever to come out, there's not really a lot of reason for her to hide since all the other refugees came from similar circumstances of abuse and would be very understanding. Yet she continually berates herself and insists its this horrible shame and she's a terrible person despite everyone assuring her that she's not. The relationship with Shemza wasn't as good as some of the other mating pairs, and I can't really say why. It just didn't have the same chemistry as the first 3 books. It wasn't bad, in the context of the series, as it moves the plot along and sets up where the next conflict happens with Molly but overall, it didn't capture my attention.
