Poetic justice in the eyes of God…

The Heathen: Resurgence. Acceptance. Perdition.

The past came back to haunt me.
There he was again, threatening me into compliance.
I willingly took his hand to save the men I loved and fell to my knees before him.
But the cost was high.
And the cost was worth it.
We were safe, and the end to my plans drew near.
Retribution was on the horizon, shining down on the blood-stained path behind me.
My father would be crucified and laid at the feet of the God he loved.
May God have no mercy on his soul.

That’s how he saved her and groveled for forgiveness.
But the damage had been done, and all we could do was watch and wait in the shadows like we had done before.
Time meant nothing.
Patience was a fleeting dream.

The present stoked the hellfire within her.
The future was bathed in the blood of her pious father.
A sanctifying end we longed to see.
