The righting is supposed to emulate the structure of a spoken fairytale, its a bit overdone. Still a good story, just felt like it was written by Yoda at times. Written well, book was. Enjoyed much, I did.
*writing
A midwinter mail order bride and the midnight bride precedes this book. Deliberately written to fit the language of that specific time the author has in mind (I think). This makes the reading awkward at times but having read them in sequence, nothing too awkward and certainly more context. 4/5 stars.
Not sure what the previous reader objected to in the first chapter. I found nothing gross or weird or anything. It was a sweet story from another world, time, and different set of rules. I wish we had gotten more of their happy ending.
I couldn't get pass the first chapter🤢🤢
