Wes
The worst thing my sister ever did was agree to marry Devon Montgomery.
The best thing she ever did was cancel the wedding two weeks out from the big day.
It’s not that I don’t like Devon. It’s that I hate him. I detest him. I loathe him.
And, for some reason, the feeling is mutual, although why anyone would hate someone as amazing as me is completely beyond my understanding.
Devon, on the other hand? He’s an overbearing, uptight, pretentious snob who wouldn’t know a good time if it bit him on the arse.
I mean, yes, he’s insanely attractive. And, yes, he’s been known to star in some particularly dirty fantasies of mine—ones of the hate-sex variety.
But that’s all it is.
Well, that’s all it was supposed to be…
Until I discover Devon has been having the exact same fantasies about me. Turns out he’s not so averse to fun after all…

Disappointing. That hot sex suggested in the blurb never really arrived, you can miss their first time together if you blink and it's not even a shame given as flat and boring it is. And it doesn't get much better.

Devon's just blend. Wes is absolutely unprofessional and childish (being 38 years old!). He's got a customer on a tatting chair in his studio, and he still accepts a call from his friend and chats with her about absolutely nothing important while the poor guy is trapped there and has to listen... are you kidding me or what? And his habit of informing anyone around in the public spaces about his sex life is just cringey.

Emma seems to be more a plot device than actual person - both characters never properly acknowledge that screwing your sister's ex is something not usually done, and with good reason - what about sibling's code? They just completely gloss it over, and she has no trouble AT ALL to get over it which is pretty unbelievable. OK, they didn't love each other and all that crap, but they still spent 2 years together and wanted to marry, so don't tell me she just doesn't give a damn.

Even aside of this detail they treat her rather badly and she never gets attention she deserves from them.

I mean, she tells Devon as her supposed 'bestie' she's pregnant - the logical reaction after he establishes he's not the lucky father would be concern about her: how did it happen, who's the father, how does she feel about him and the baby, does she want to keep it, does she need anything, help, support, reassurance? That sort of thing which a 'friend' should deliver, but Devon? Nada, zero... his reaction is absolutely WTF for me.
