Owned by My Husband, Book 6 of the Tendered Vows series, was about Cameron "Cam" Bates and his wife, Aisha (Ceesay) Bates.

The book began in what seemed to be the middle of the story. Aisha had experienced some kind of accident and sustained a concussion that resulted in her losing her memories. She couldn't remember the past six months. To her, she and Cam were still enemies, but to him, they had been married for six months and were on their honeymoon.

The author did not explain how Aisha had been hurt other than stating (repeatedly) that she had fallen. Never in the story was it fully addressed. There were only two other, very minor characters. One was the doctor who attended to her when she woke up on the boat. The other was introduced only once, and that was through a phone call to a woman named Sara, who ended up being Aisha's sister.

there was a lot of confusion on the timeline of the story. Sometimes it felt like the book jumped ahead and then back in time, but it wasn't ever clear if that was the case. The flow of the story was all jumbled up and there was very little continuity in it.

The first five chapters were told from the POV of Aisha. Then Cam's POV, although minute, was given a time or two. Still, it was more aggravating than it was anything else. The whole book was a complete mess.

There was no backstory for either character. The past was never addressed fully. They only hinted at one or two incidents from high school. There wasn't any mention of how they went from enemies to lovers, to married and in love. It was such a disappointment.

I could only give the book a one-star rating, and that was being generous. I didn't want to give it anything, but I hate not rating a story. But one thing is for certain. It won't be worth reading a second time.

Imani is a good writer, this was a rare off book for her. Flat, repetitive, stale plot.
