It wasn't all that great, to be honest. The taboo step dad/step daughter relationship wasn't so bad, but the fact he was still married(albeit separated) to her mother was asking a bit much for the reader to accept. Another unacceptable issue was the other woman who worked with the MMC. The fact that he did phone sex with her while fantasizing about the FMC (and almost bedding her, but not quite) was a little to ick-factor for me. Also, the MMC was too much of a beta male who couldn't quite make up his mind what he wanted, and also he let his estranged wife push his buttons a little too much. Usually it's the FMC who was the doormat in such stories, but not in this case. That role went straight to the MMC, who allowed everyone but the FMC walk all over him. Definitely wasn't worthy of a second reading...let alone the first reading. This will be one story I regret reading. No stars allotted. I just couldn't do that for a book where everyone hurt the FMC at every turn, and walked all over the MMC like he was something to wipe their feet on.
