Note: Nate was previously available in the Mail-Order Brides for Christmas anthology. This edition includes an extra epilogue.
Nate Mistletoe has always been the black sheep of the family, but he’ll do anything to save Snow Valley. Even if it means marrying a complete stranger.
Rough around the edges?
That might be an understatement.
He’ll do what is necessary.
But that doesn’t mean he’ll fall in love.
Even if Catriona takes his breath away the first time he sees her…
Even if he feels drawn to her…
Even if she’s everything he’s wanted…
Nope, not going to fall in love.

Nate, Book 6 of the Male Order Brides For Christmas series, was about 2-year-old Nathan "Nate" Mistletoe, the owner of a mechanic shop, and 20-year-old Catriona Phillips, a waitress.

When the Mistletoe family learned that their small town was about to be sold to a large corporation that would turn their world into a tourist attraction, the six brothers decided to pool their inheritance together to buy it instead. There was only one problem with that idea, though. The town's founder had created a legal and binding codicil that stated whoever owned the town had to be married to do so...and none of the Mistletoe brothers were married. Fortunately (or unfortunately for the brothers, depending on how they looked at it), their mother had the perfect plan to circumvent the codicil...each brother would have a mail-order bride and be married before the New Year hit. This was Natt's story, which supposedly took place two weeks after Nat's brother Matt met his own mail-order bride, Jenna. With Matt's story taking place in the summer rather than during the winter holidays as the other four brothers' stories did, and Nate's taking place two weeks later (according to Matt's story), you'd think that it was a late summer/early fall setting. However, immediately after Catriona arrived at his home, they were decorating for Christmas. That was a bit confusing.

Of the six brothers, Nate had always considered himself to be the black sheep of the family. He had vices that his mother disapproved of, like smoking cigarettes and drinking too much from time to time. So when his mother told him and his brothers about the arrangement she made for each of them to be married before the new year, Nate was more than a tad bitter. But when Catriona showed up on his doorstep, that bitterness melted away at the sight of her smile.

The more time Nate and Catriona spent together, the more drawn to each other they became. But Nate hadn't wanted to fall in love with anyone, especially after a previous relationship ended in disaster. Nate was beginning to change his mind regarding his mother's plan. He used to think it was insane, but the more he learned about Catriona, the more time he spent with her, the more he liked the idea of spending his life with her.

Of all the books in the series, this was by far the best one. It had a touch of angst and drama, but it had more spice than any of the others. Both of the main characters had significant issues with fitting in as well as reputations that made them feel like an outcast in their respective families. Both had a lot to overcome, but once they met each other, that was all they needed to find their place...in each other. Both main characters were well-developed and mature, with plenty of room for growth.

While there were a few minor grammatical errors and even some information that didn't fit in with the rest of the series, it was still better than any of the other stories. This book deserved the full five-star rating I gave it, mainly because these two main characters had so much more to overcome than all of the others combined. This was an excellent ending to a great series.
