When my grumpy silver-fox boss begrudgingly invites me to join him at a career-catapulting conference over the holidays, I’m thrilled.
Yes, it’s going to suck dealing with my boss’s caveman attitude. Especially because he only seems to act that way with me, and I know I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m his top-performing employee, and apparently the biggest thorn in his side.
But I’ve had enough, anyway. I’ve got my letter of resignation all typed up, and this conference will be the perfect chance to network with new potential employers, all while showing Jamie just what he’ll be missing when I quit.
Except, spending a whole weekend with my boss is showing me there might be a reason why he’s so grumpy.
