If I hadn’t kissed him, we’d be dead.

My chance encounter with the brutally handsome mob boss and his two best friends throws me into a dark underworld I never wanted to visit. As a nurse, I’m used to healing wounds, not falling for men who cause them. But it’s too late—the powerful mafiosos are all I can think about.
Cesare’s in charge, both in and out of the bedroom. Surrendering to him is a challenge, but in his arms, I discover a passion I’ve never known before.
Matteo’s intense gaze burns with desire, but he’s holding something back, and I’ll do anything to learn his secrets.
And then there’s Leonardo—wild, charming, and impossible to ignore. He’s the easiest to fall for, but I’m drawn to all three.
They’re dangerous men, yet they make me feel safe. But as dark forces close in, I have to know—will they keep their promise to protect me even if it means breaking my heart?

I remember why I stopped reading her in general, but especially her mafia shit. This is 98% stupid mafia bullshit, when they aren't even in the mafia, just trying to power grab for "respect". As if you can't have respect without being in the mob, or I dunno become one of the powerful corporations y'all reference so much. The writing is all over the place, as if the author gives 0 fucks. The romance is the only reason I want to read this junk and they interact like 4 times within the first 30 chapters. The FMC is also morally against everything they stand for, hates guns, crime, mafia, has has firsthand trauma associated with it, but withing the last 5 chapters compromises all her beliefs for good sex and because they "risked their lives to save her" as if they weren't already going to fight that dude to save their own. There was an ulterior motive and they just act like it never existed. The logic in this just makes me want to smash my head into a wall, I regret reading it. Rant over.
