Three years ago my life changed forever.
I’m looking for a fresh start for me and my son.
A new city, a new life.
It was only supposed to be one night at the club.
One night of surrender and submission to my temporary daddy.
A single night to reconnect with a part of me I thought was gone forever.
Then I met him…
Axel Walker.
He takes me to heights I’ve never known and makes my body sing. He makes me remember what it’s like to be wanted.
But my heart is a fragile thing. I swore I would never love again. That I would protect what’s left of my heart at all costs.
He broke down my walls and gave me a taste of what life could be like… and I want it…
Can I find the courage to take what he’s offering me? Or will I be lost to my grief forever?

Keeping His Babygirl, Book 6 of The Playground series, was about Axel Walker, a bartender at The Playground club, and Addy Perkins. After Addy's husband died due to a drunk driver, she all but lost her way. Her mother started taking on the role of mothering Addy's baby (who was born the day her husband died). Three years into that situation, Addy started to wake up and realize that her son turned to his grandmother more than to his own mom for his needs. With that eye-opening experience, she decided it was time to move away from her parents so she could focus on rebuilding the bond between her and her child. Addy moved to the town where The Playground was and immediately signed up for a membership. Two months later she had arranged to meet a man there whom she had started talking to on a dating site. However, the man ghosted her. As she was coming to the realization that she'd been stood up, Axel introduced himself and their "casual" friendship began. Except, Axel got attached too fast, much to Addy's dismay. After two encounters with him, she then ghosted him because she felt like he was getting too serious...something she didn't want to do. A week after being ghosted, Axel was at the grocery store when a little boy fell at his feet. It was then he found out Addy had a child. Side Note: I hate it when authors write stories with small children and don't get the age-appropriate speech downright. Most 3-year-old toddlers do not have the ability to speak the way a five or six-year-old does. And yet, this author gave Addy's son the ability to speak almost like an adult. It was very disappointing. While there was plenty of angst, drama, and spice, the book was not as good as the five that came before it. There were a lot of grammatical errors that detracted from the story, but the biggest disappointment was all of the unresolved issues as well as the lack of comeuppance with certain characters. For example, the FMC's issues with her mother were resolved too quickly to be real. The woman had been horrible each time she appeared, and yet the author had her do an about-face with little to no problem. That was such a letdown. I only gave this story a three-star rating because it just didn't earn anything higher.
