I don't think it will get any backlash. Most readers here generally like the series. The negatives are usually small nitpicks. The chief complaint is that the series seems to be running out of steam (as all series do).

As someone who has read books 1 to 15 of the ice planet barbarian series, I'd say this is a great place to start! Could be a trigger for some readers as alien abduction, abuse are hard to read but bear with it. The premise of this series is interesting and certainly reads well
