The Diamond:
Death walks alongside me,
But the reaper is no match for me.
I’m trapped in a world full of monsters dressed as men, and those who aren’t as they seem.
They won’t keep me forever.
I no longer recognize the person I’ve become,
And I’m fighting to find my way back to the beast who hunts me in the night.
They call me a diamond,
But they’ve only created an angel of death.

The Hunter:
I was born a predator,
With ruthlessness ingrained in my bones.
When what’s mine is stolen from me in the night,
Like a diamond hidden within a fortress,
I find that I can no longer contain the beast.
Blood will paint the ground as I tear apart this world to find her.
And bring her back to where she belongs.
No one will escape my wrath,
Especially not those who have betrayed me.

I'm really getting into all these dark romance books. This a great series it's a must read. 💋💋❤️‍🔥 p.s I usually don't read dark romance books but I'm starting to like them and read them more often.

This duet is the best dark romance series that I've read so far, I can't get enough of Zade and Addie and I adore the side characters too, especially Sibby. This book, however, is a LOT darker and more disturbing than the first book. There is graphic r@pe detail, trafficking, torture, and just some overall very disturbing scenes. But it would have been a massive injustice to the sickening realities of sex trafficking if the author had just glossed over everything that happened during her capture. It's hard to get through, you'll feel heartbroken and angry, you'll cry and want to save Addie and the other girls, you'll feel sick to your stomach - but that just shows what an incredible job H.D Carlton did. This book is A LOT. It's main focus is trauma rather than romance, do not read this book if you can't handle that. Anyway, I loved Zade even more after this book. I truly saw him as the ruthless man he is and he stopped at nothing to find Addie. BUT I also love how it wasn't the typical male saves the day, Addie stopped at nothing to free herself. She is strong minded, selfless, even getting punished for trying to help the other girls, and honestly just a badass. Her revenge was soooo satisfying. And even though she needs Zade, she also doesn't. I love her. Zade, despite being forceful and crossing boundaries in the first book, was incredibly patient and supportive in this book and eventually helped her to overcome her trauma (...in his own f*cked up way). And the ending...the way he made sure it wasn't diamonds. I just loved it. Satan's Affair is a great read too to have a better insight into the mind of the side character Sibby. :)

Disgusting. No clue why I even read this book because it's just gross. Almost half the book is just describing how Adeline gets violently r@ped and assaulted by human traffickers. It continues to romanticise abuse by saying it's okay because the MC 'rescues' Adeline, no good dead makes up for the kind of shit the MC did to her (and continues doing to her), Z is just as bad as the people in that house.

I loved this series. I was disturbed at the beginning but I feel in love with the characters and their story. This book deals with issues society is to afraid to speak about and it is great that someone stepped up. It also learns us love is hard and not always beautiful which is the reality. My favorite book series ever.

I love adeline and zade, seeing the beginning of part two, as well as the reality of her situation as soon as she enters it was devastating. These are books I would love to own physical copies of! And while the ending mightve seemed a little dragged out I loved it nonetheless!

Man..this was dark! That poor girl, my heart just bled when I read she was there for over 2 months in that house! (no spoilers). I was literally GLUED to this book, but some parts just didn't make sense to me. (like the name calling after her getting back?). This one was a little longer than it really needed to be. Overall a good read.

If you liked this series, H.D. also wrote Satan's Affair from Sibby's POV. I really like it and hope she does another. ❤️‍🔥

A LOT darker than the first book Haunting Adeline, massive TW and CW for r@pe, blood, cutting, child @buse, s3x/human trafficking, drugging, those warnings are for essentially the entire book start to finish.
