I was supposed to kill Owen James, not fall for him.
In my defense, it had been a stressful day. My best friend almost died, so when our arms touched briefly and I felt like I’d been struck by lightning, I didn’t think anything of it.
Nor did I think that we were doing anything more than a casual hookup. Because everyone casually hooks up with the werewolf they’re supposed to kill, right?
