Bi racial couple romance which was a nice touch.
Holland (a bit annoying that he is called Alistair throughout the book) was certainly a grumpy boss and full of demands but loved how Kenya stood up to him. Slow burn with lots of snappy retorts from both MCs, the romance took its time to build even with the chemistry and when they finally got together the romance fizzled for me wasn’t given much detail even though both MCs loved each other. Cute inclusion of daughter Belle and uncle Darrel. Some angst with Kenya’s family played a secondary plot to story and Holland’s loss of his wife which drew out the emotion card for both. Nice story and well paced but the romance needed a little more saucy scenes seeing they had a strong attraction to each other. Liked the ending with Kenya’s family to round out all the angst. Can’t wait for Sunny’s story next.
