Grat by Marina Simcoe

Everything in the wild Wetlands of Helfallow wants to kill you, eat you, or both. Yet I’ve survived here for weeks, alone, without a weapon, and only a dirty bearhide for clothes.
Half-starved and desperate, I stumble upon a bog orc in a hunting cabin, and stealing his food becomes my new life goal.
Surprisingly, the bog orc isn’t the brainless brute that I’ve expected. In fact, he believes that I’m a feral creature who has strayed from a pack of wildlings. For a while, I let him think that because no one can know who I really am.
All I want from the orc is food and shelter, but something unexpected starts to grow between us—mutual trust, surprising tenderness, and…so much more.
When I finally believe I might’ve found my true happiness, my secret catches up with me, threatening to destroy the only safe place I’ve ever known.
